Butterflies for April
I like butterflies they remind me of sunny days and bright flowers. We could do with some of that good weather and bright colours as we all prepare to face the storms which we are experiencing at the moment.
Here are a couple of cards I'd like to include in the April class. Although they both contain butterflies they are different in their colour palate and techniques used. The whiter card uses the Butterfly Brilliance Bundle to die cut random butterflies from the top layer of the card. Sticking them back down while adding volume to their wings helps add texture to this card. The pop of pink from the Abstract Beauty Design Series Paper helps lift the card. I pick the Hello sentiment from the Forever Fern set, however any sentiment could be used.
The Card with the darker butterflies uses blending brushed to create a more abstract look for the butterflies, not colouring them individually, but covering the card with a haze of colours helps guide your eye to different areas on the card as you look. I started with heat embossing the butterfly stamp with a black embossing powder. Then using blending brushes I added Petal Pink, Polished Pink and Soft succulent using a blending brush. The colour palate I chose as I love the polished pink ribbon, so wanted to include it in this project. Heat embossing a sentiment in white helps to lift the card.
Keep your eyes peeled to see what the 3rd project will be...
