Wow, what a brilliant class last night teacher techniques to for using the blending brushes. I provided 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper (DSP) as the table gift for everyone with the intention to share some ideas for One Sheet Wonders (OSW). Its a way of cutting paper to maximise the amount of cards you can get from one sheet of DSP.
There are so many templates for cutting on the internet, so use your preferred search engine and see what you can find. I'm going to share details of the cards I made using a template I found on line at Ellocin Designs
For all of my cards I use a Thick Basic White Cardstock A4 cut to 81/4 x 53/4 scored at 41/8. This makes the card base 53/4 x 41/8. These cards fit into a C6 envelope
Below I will show you simple, experienced and avid versions of cards you can make using this cutting patter. I have not shown all 6 cards in each of the levels, as you can use your own interpretation from the designs below to personalise your own cards. In each of the levels of card design you will notice I have laid out the pieces of DSP in a different way to give you further ideas on how to create your own amazing cards from one piece of 6x6 DSP. The simple designs use only these paper pieces, the card base and a sentiment either stamped or printed from computer. You would adhere the DSP directly to the card base without any further card mats.
Examples of the simple cards which can be made using this cut pattern.
To step up a level to experienced, I mounted each DSP piece on a Basic Black cardstock which was cut 1/8 bigger in width and length eg 3x3 DSP 31/8 x 31/8 Black card. With the addition of the black you can overlap the piece without losing any of the impact of the DSP. See the 1x1 squares int he examples cards further down to see the overlapped squares.
Card examples created either directly on the card base or with a single mat of white.
You will notice how the simple addition of a black mat layer for each DSP, a Basic Black mat under the card front and sentiment lifts the card, lets go a step further and see the avid cards made with these cut DSP pieces.
The additions to lift to avid are ribbon, jewels and some dimensionals to lift piece off the card base. If you had an embossing folder you could also add some texture to the card front mat by embossing in a subtle texture to further lift the design
